光緒元寶是清朝光緒年間流通的貨幣之一。共有十九個省局鑄造，除中央戶部，地方省所鑄銅元，皆在其正面上緣鐫寫省名。中國最早的機制洋式銀元為光緒年間的“光緒元寶”，俗稱“龍洋”，因銀元背面一般鑄有龍紋而得名。因清代以來經歷了多場戰爭，龍紋光緒元寶損失嚴重，至今，數量已經極其有限。龍紋光緒元寶，這種元寶非常獨特，它所代表的不僅僅是金錢，還有光緒年間的經濟情況。為此，眾多收藏家都紛湧而至，以期能夠找出這時期的龍紋光緒元寶，以滿足清代經濟研究所需。
此組藏品名為新雲南省造光緒元寶無英文版，是繼兩廣總督張之洞引進英國機器製造的英文版光緒元寶後，由我國自主研發制幣機器鑄造的錢幣，所以背面無英文。此組錢幣雲南省造光緒元寶庫平三錢六分雖然經歷了歲月的洗禮和歷史的沉澱，但 如今依然儲存較為完好；它在燈光下散發出一種淡淡的銀光，彷彿帶著一股王 者的貴氣。藏品正面鑄有銘文，頂部鑄楷體“雲南省造”四字，底部鑄貨幣價值：“庫平三錢六分”，中心直讀“光緒元寶”四字，幣中心為滿文“光緒元寶”，外圈兩側各有一朵六角花紋裝飾。藏品的背面內圈是神龍圖騰，紋路如刀刻所成，鑄造工藝神乎其技，且龍身紋路精美，並有雲海襯托，看上去彷彿是一幅神龍翱翔天際油畫，極其瑰麗，美得 動人心魄!神龍圖騰紋飾色澤豔麗明快，自然純正，光潔細潤。此枚錢幣背面看上去就彷彿是一 幅畫卷，美到極致。
