當地時間12月21日，正在黎巴嫩進行訪問的聯合國秘書長安東尼奧·古特雷斯舉行新聞釋出會。

在回答記者關於“是否確認出席北京冬奧會開幕式”的提問時，古特雷斯稱，

He received an invitation from the International Olympic Committee to attend the opening ceremony of the Beijing Winter Games and has accepted it.他收到來自國際奧委會關於出席北京冬奧會開幕式的邀請，並接受了邀請。

此前，聯合國秘書長古特雷斯的發言人迪雅裡克已在12月9日的例行記者吹風會上確認了這一訊息。

外交部發言人趙立堅表示：

外交部發言人汪文斌對此表示，
